About this product

Product Information

Following the well-received Xbox game released late in 2004, This "Max'd," second interactive deployment of the paintballing celebrity and his crew adds elements of tactical team control, à la Rainbow Six, to the fast-paced shooter action. At the start of the game, players can diagram initial the movements of teammates, order them to hold or retreat in certain situations, and direct them to concentrate fire on certain key targets, allowing even single-players to simulate the teamwork required for victory in the new-fangled sport. As in the original game, players join the battle in virtual arenas based on real-life paintball fields. Numerous opposing teams await, including many based on real-life paintball teams that feature celebrities of the sport. Game modes should be familiar to most first-person shooter fans, and include Elimination, Capture the Flag, and Center Flag.

  • Paintball takes one more huge step!!

Okay, so here we have the latest installment in the greg hasting series. It is available on X-Box, GBA, Nintendo DS, and PS2. Controls- Right off the git go the controls are very forgiving. Though the learning curve may seem steep. What, with snap shooting, diving, sprinting, and reloading to think about it can seem quite overwhelming. But the boys at activision have taken great care to make the controls as natual as possible. In my opinion they have done quite well, because within a few minutes you will get the hang of it and be mowing faces in no time. Graphics- The graphics are good, but nothing to write home about. They do their job and make the game look nice, even if it's not amazing. AI- The AI is MUCH better than in the last game, but still suffers from the same schizophrenic ...

  • Greg Hasting's Max'd (Good, but not quite there yet)

Greg Hasting's Tournament Paintball Max'd (Xbox) is an addictive first person shooter type game. It varies from other run-of-the-line games in its genre because it incorporates sport, instead of missions fighting terrorists/crime etc. Its style is fresh and entertaining...definately a good alternative to other sports games like NHL 2006 or FIFA. Its gameplay is entertaining and captivating, but somewhat lacking. It is not the most realistic in its recreation of the sport itself, but is fun nonetheless. It has an awesome soundtrack that never seems to get old, but the side comments and remarks made by the announcer sure do. It also incorporates the tournament style play that allows the user to earn cash, which can be used to buy gear, including markers, pants, and other necessities. ...

  • Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball Max'd : Well, almost

Max’d was published by Activision and developed by WXP Inc. who also did The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings for Xbox. This is the same team that released the first Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball last year so they know what they have to build off. Like the first version you build a character and start a career. You are forced to play tournament after tournament. There really is no story or environment developed. You just continue to play tournaments to collect cash to use at the store. You also receive experience points that allow you to improve your characters attributes. Game play can get a little boring as your only real motivating factor on going through the tournaments is to get enough cash to buy the top of the line gear in the game’s online store. You do feel ...

  • Better than the original, but has room to grow.

Max'd was a big step up over the original GHPB, but it still has a lot of kinks to be worked out. Just like the first game, you start with nothing and have to build up a tournament paintball team. As you progress through the tournaments, you earn experience and money to upgrade your skills and equipment. For anyone who has played tournament paintball recently, this game shows its age in the outdated field stylings, but that's a minor detail. The developers improved several flaws with the original game, allowing you more communication options with your teammates and adding a breakout manager to control where your teammates go off the break. Unfortunately many of the quirks with this game that make it frustrating for someone who has played paintball competitively still exist. All in ...
