    Inaccurate Preface. Buy another version from a different publisher. Good tale tho'.

    This edition is the worst of the bunch because of all the inaccuracies in the Preface. There are better versions of Captain Jack's autobiography than this. Also, be aware that she never hired an Editor - so these are all a rough versions that were probably published directly from her manuscript. For example, many times she'll use two different spellings for the same town and sometimes she gets her directions confused. Also, she never mentions the name of her only son, which is frustrating as you read the work. BUT, she wrote a good tale. An editor would have made it even more interesting. A good tale IF you ignore the lazy scholarship of the Preface.
