On "The Edge" Of Your Seat

In a seemingly hopeless situation, Anthony Hopkins' character blooms. A lifetime of "worthless knowledge" becomes key to survival. Bart, the bear, had his largest and most awesome role in The Edge. Sure, some scenes would be impractical in real life, but artistic liberties win out and make for a great movie. This is an intense and entertaining film you will want to watch more than once.

    Meh...it was ok.

This movie was just ok. It had some suspenseful action, plot twists and showed creative ways to hopefully survive if trapped in the wilderness. But I thought Alec Baldwin's character was annoying and lacked depth. Anthony Hopkins' character was ok, yet, again not much depth. The storyline was your typical stranded in the wilderness after an accident and having to fight off hungry animals. I will say that I did not expect the ending though between the two main characters.

  • GREAT FILM = my heart was beating fast!! INTENSE = WOW

Although the beginning / set up was a bit confusing, this movie was gripping. I'm not a fan of either Baldwin or Hopkins, but they are both excellent actors. The gaunt crazed look on Baldwin's character's face was intense and very real...gives me goose bumps just mentioning it. The story is about a getting lost in the wild and surviving bear attacks, and then surviving each other. This is 2008, 15 years later and the film is as fresh as if it were made yesterday. I resisted watching it because like many famous celebrity actors, you never really forget its them and not the character. But the conflict with the bears and being subject to the natural elements was just FAB U Lous movie making. Very very worth while watching. Watch it, enjoy it on the EDGE of your seat, then watch ...

  • More Than Thrilling

Great movie. Covers a lot more more than just survival skills. Why do so many these days think the rich are bad?? The rich, wealthy business owners (middle-class, upper middle class and upper most wealthiest) are the backbone of our economy and the ones who provide the jobs for everyone else. The inability to see the goodness in the wealthy from an economic viewpoint, as well as a disregard for personal goodness due to jealousy and hate, is depicted in this movie. Sure wish more citizens focused on the economics rather than emotions, appreciate success rather than try to tear it down, etc. Bottom line, be smart, understand survival skills and economics, don’t be lured by what sounds too good to be true (If you’re an old wealthy guy-don’t marry a young sexy model; If you’re a student, don’t ...

  • The Edge

The plot, scenery, also the musical score fits the scenery. The wind blowing in the snow covered mountains. The actors, all involved do just fine.Anthony Hopkins,Alic Baldwin truly act sacred and cold in this movie. This may have been "Bart" the bear last movie,he deserves an academy award. In such circumstances two people can really search their inner selves in the will to survived. The producer, director realized this in the making of this movie. An intersting plot is envy played with zeal by Alic Baldwin and the rich,Anthony Hopkins searching for inner self has meaning. This movie needs to be more recognized as one of the best.
