    Faster than 1st Gen. Time Capsule, might have a problem with OSX Catalina

    An improvement over my nine year old used 1st generation Time Capsule that I bought on eBay in that backups are faster now. Unfortunately, OSX Catalina doesn't work as well with it as has been reported on the Apple Community Support site. This one has worked well for the past few weeks since I bought it up until a few days ago when it stopped backing up. Thankfully, making a whole new backup was quick. My old one, until it started overheating, pretty much always worked. So far, I think this will work for me if it doesn't keep having the problem of not backing up. There may be some hope that the next generation of OSX will be an improvement with Time Machine but we'll see.

    Apple users: YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THE PURCHASE OF THIS UNIT!!!!!

    I have been looking for a router for YEARS that would work nicely with my apple equipment. HERE it is. I purchased this router with hard drive for I wanted a 'good' way to backup my files (time capsule)AND get a good router. HERE it is folks. The only 'problem was the 1tb hard drive was not adequate for my desktop (3TB). I swapped out the 1TB for a 3TB (Took less than a half hour) and I'm all set. UNFORTUNATELY, I can't drop the Verizon Router so I 'piggy-backed' the 'capsule,' turned OFF the verizon router's 'wireless' function and use the Apple's exclusively. I am VERY happy with this unit.

    Nothing beats the apple time capsule. A combination of external hard and a router. A must have for a Mac user. Very east to use.

    Could have been five stars

    It could’ve been five stars if the indicator light worked. I did not see that listed as not working in the description of the item but it’s four stars because it works once I figured out if it was on or off. Thank you

    Bad product - only worked once

    I purchased this in good faith. First I could not get it to work and I had to call apple & pay for tech support. I got it to work one time and then the time capsule would not work anymore. It was a total waste of a good chunk of money I could not afford. I have now found out it can not be repaired. It has been a number of months since I got it but thought a call to tech support (apple) and paying again could fix the problem. I could not afford to do this before. He informed me that the it was dead. the little light on the front has not been on since the first time I got it to work. I didn't realize that meant it was dead.
