Great Capra Movies
In this cynical age, it's nice to be able to go back to movies that celebrate the best in us and remind us of "our better angels". "You Can't Take It With You", for example, shows us there are more important things in life than slaving for the almighty dollar. "Mr. Smith Goes To Washington " makes us remember what government is supposed to be about. You can't go wrong with this wonderful set.

Days of Yore
After receiving this Capra compilation I dug right in to remember days of 'yore. The selection of movies/DVD's is great. My two favorite of the grouping is "Mr. Smith goes to Washington"(how appropriate in these times) and "You Can't Take it With You". Watching Black and White movies to me is like making time stand still. Watching the use of shadows and back lighting is terrific. Capra's genius of direction in these movies is perfect. Even using almost identical casts works with ease. How could a director go wrong with James Stewart,Jean Arthur, Edward Arnold and on and on. Great video collection of Frank Capra’s films this has been a very good companion to Capra’s autobiography “The Name Above the Title” of which I’m currently reading. Love the behind the scenes interviews w Capra’s son!

This is an absolutely delightful item and I would buy again without hesitation. Everyone of the movies is excellent and they added just about Capra is most enlightening. My son always complains that I want old black-and-white movies and that they are boring. However, he has already watched three of the movies in this set and didn't even get up and leave the room during any of them. That's just say something about the quality of the films. I bought it because I really like Frank Capra and the three movies we watched first or ones I had not seen. Those three alone worth the price of the item. If you like wonderful movies with happy endings that are good for the whole family, this is the item for you, with absolutely no reservations.This is an absolutely delightful item and I would buy again without hesitation.
