  • Iggy and the Stooges - Fun House

Fun House was recorded live in the studio with few or no overdubs, in roughly the same order as on the record. The Stooges intended that "Loose" open the album, but Elektra thought "Down On The Street" would be the stronger opener. Taking their cue from the over-amplified pounding of British blues, the primal raunch of American garage rock, and the psychedelic rock (as well as the audience-baiting) of the Doors, the sound is smeary and bleeds all over the place, but it packs the low-tech wallop of a concert pumped through a big PA, bursting with energy and immediacy. the Stooges were raw, immediate, and vulgar. Ron and Scott Asheton formed a primitive rhythm section, pounding out chords with no finesse — in essence, the Stooges were the first rock & roll band ...

  • Iggy Pop at the top!

Raw rock and roll (punkish for sure). Great vocals and musicianship. Good recording too.

  • Great album

Iggy Pop during the early years. Jack White's favorite album. Enough said!
