    brilliant!

    Great book! I knew Grant Oakes and even assisted him in purchasing a couple of lamps pictured in the book. Superb photography! I take it to bed with me most nights and fall asleep dreaming of beautiful lamps dripping with prisms. I also remember telling Grant he should be embarassed owning such great lamps in such large quantities, all the time wishing it were me who owned them! He was a fine man, wonderful spirit!     Review

    Book is beautifully illustrated and quite informative. I would appreciate more text; however, I realize that there is a dearth of information on this particular topic. In that regard this is an excellent book in that it fills a need. There are very few books available devoted only to early 19th century lighting devices. All around, I would highly recommend this book.
