    Dangers in the pre diesel erra.

    I found this book very informative with reference to how trains were operated in the early days with no connections to the trains when they arent at a station.The train crew would have to watch to make sure another train wasnt coming and I dont think that trains had good headlights to warn them. With the danger of being a giant tea kettle that could blow up with little warning.I f the boiler water became too low an explosion was soon to happen causing major deaths and destruction.
