    The Chase by Clive Cussler

My wife and I are big fans of the character Isaac Bell and his wife Marion Morgan after reading several of his adventurers. The Chase is the first of his ten books so it was fun to read about how everything got started. Especially how Isaac met Marion.

  • The Chase

Moved right along. A bit of history with fiction. Good enough I bought a copy to send to my son. A bit different from his other novels. The action started page 1 & went to the last page. A good, clean, well written novel. The historical facts were interesting. The writing is good enough that one feels as if they were there in person. In comparison to other writers, Clive Cussler is as good if not better than a lot of other writers I have read (and I read an average of 600 books a year).

  • The Chase

The book kept you thinking, wondering what is next. I enjoyed the turn of the century era the book was written in and really enjoyed the characters in this novel. The book was very well written in the way Isaac Bell, from the Van Dorn Detective agency, uncovered clues and how the Butcher Bandit continued to escape his capture. I usually do not read murder/mystery, but I saw the book everywhere I went and thought I would give it a try. I couldn't put the book down and was sad when I finished it. I would enjoy reading another novel from Clive Cussler using Isaac Bell and the Van Dorn detective agency in a new series of books. Thanks for the good read, Joe Bonomo Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada

  • Cussler Similar to Robert Ludlum

I bought THE CHASE by Clive Cussler because I had read Cussler's ARTIC DRIFT and I liked it so I wanted to see if his style of writing was consistent in all or most of his books. What I like about THE CHASE is that Cussler did not fail to entertain me. THE CHASE is filled with a lot of action and a style of writing similar to Robert Ludlum. It is an easy book to read and Cussler produces colorful as well as memorable characters. What I disliked about THE CHASE was the book started to drag just a bit, but then Cussler picked up the action with the Great Earthquake of San Francisco. I would certainly buy this book again because it is a family oriented book, action packed and Cussler uses historical events and establishments to move the story along !

  • The Chase

The Chase by Clive Cussler intoduces a new character to his readers. The time frame is in the past, instead of current day or near future as Cusslers other books. This adds a whole new take on the adventure story that Mr Cussler in my opinion does very well. His ability to blend historical fact and fiction together is great. This stories takes place in the turn of the century when autos were new and trains where the only means of mass transit in the west. Plus add in the city of San Francisco in the early part of the 20th century, has all the makings of a possible new series of adventures.
