The Gatherng Storm
History is one of my favorite subjects and because I am in the process of writing a book about WWII there was valuable resource information in this movie. Winston Churchill was born to save England. He believed he was destined to bring England to victory through the turbulent war years. It was Churchill's persistence and love for his country that brought the people through such a dark time in history. With most of Europe succumbing to the power of Germany's raging bull with the black mustache, Churchill rallied the people to stand strong. He prepared his people to fight back with an unwavering perseverance. Churchill was a visionary, recognizing the dangers that were looming on the horizon, he prepared England by consistently sounding the alarm of the impending invasion. It was ... The movie portrays the urgency of the times very well. I particularly enjoyed the way in which the movie allowed the viewer to go behind the scenes of this famous man's life to reveal some of the private and more personal issues that Churchill faced. Even through his own struggles, he remained strong and gave England his unflinching constitution. He played his hour in history brilliantly. I would recommend this movie to anyone interested in a more personal view of Winston Churchill's life. Often we forget that many of our leaders struggle as we do with depression, marital woes, and life's disappointments yet they still have the responsibility of uniting a nation during the impending threats of war. The gentleman who played the role of Churchill did a wonderful job.

THIS... is a wonderfully true to WWII facts movie about Winston Churchill's emotional struggles and health issues that were both heightened by his patriotism, love for his country... and his burning passion to save his beloved England from German rule. This account is award quality with splendid landscapes... and skillful actor contributions. I was spellbound. Albert Finney and Vanessa Redgrave I knew would be excellent... but combined with this movie's excellent, exciting script... I wanted more when it ended!
