This book is THE ONE for vintage hairstyling, accessible to a beginner.
If you are like me - a complete hairstyling novice - and if you find vintage styles elegant and timeless, then this is the book for you. Ms. Rennells shows you ALL of the basics, including the tools you'll need, how to "prep" your hair with a hot roller or steam roller set, how to roll a pin curl or a roller. I never knew that the angle at which you hold the roller while rolling it made such a difference. I have nearly hip-length hair and was worried that I could not apply these techniques, but after having had the book for less than 24 hours, I have already made two styles that turned out flawlessly. If you could see my "before" picture, you'd understand that Ms. Rennells is a master teacher.If you are like me - a complete hairstyling novice - and if you find vintage styles elegant and timeless, then this is the book for you. dipicitions of instruction are the best I have seen yet
The book is great and shows you exactly what you need and what to do with it all. I got the book and then got ALL of the suggested supplies from amazon to the tune of $270 USD. I am on my way to learning the techniques in the book and have so far had good results. What I have found in the past is confusing pictures and arrows that all lead to nothing and deffinitly not my learning how to ceate these hairstyles. This book breaks it down for you clearly and the dipictions of instruction are the best I have seen yet. The book is the same price online and at major book sellers and in my opinion worth it.The book is great and shows you exactly what you need and what to do with it all.
