The product looks as described, thank you. Delivery communication was sub-standard. But delivery was finally within 24 hours of what was promised - it arrived in NZ on May 16th rather than 15th, but that's ok.

    Canon D10 waterproof camera

Very nice camera takes really nice pictures. Too bad Canon no longer makes waterproof cameras. Already using it.

  • A new owners opinion

From a physical handling perspective, the camera could use a little more right hand contact surface to avoid unnecessary pressure on rear buttons and dials. The camera "on" button is not easy to activate for a casual operation. A somewhat concerted effort is required to turn it on and off. The camera seems to always slightly over expose daylight shots. Operationally, it is just a little faster than some other digi-cams I've used but not DSLR fast. The view finder is too small to use if you wear glasses but Ok otherwise. It is not in the least intuitive for the casual shooter but filled with professional operations and technical gagetry. But, it also retains many earlier "canned" photographic modes familiar to other G camera owners. The movie mode is a ...

  • Back up to DSLR

I have not owned a point and shoot in 6 years, since I purchased the original 300D. I have had most of the xxxD line up, 20D, 40D, 5D, and now shoot with 5DII and some good glass. However after reading the luminous landscapes article on g10 http://www.luminous-landscape.com/reviews/kidding.shtml, when he shot and printed at iso 80, and compared 13x19 prints with a medium back, I decided to give it a try for a small, leave it in the car, take it any where solution. besides it has video. Initial impressions. Positives: Excellent built, solid, nice finish. Good startup time. excellent knobs, including ISO. Good menu system, esp if you are used to canon DSLR. Decent LCD. Perfect size, pocketable. IS works well. Good Dof (as expected) even wide open, with good landscape results at ...

  • Canon PowerShot G10

The reason I bought the Canon G10 was to replace the G9 that all of a sudden quit on me 13 months after I bought THAT camera. To say the least I was not happy. Several others have had this same problem and I read where one person got an explanation from Canon that it's due to downloading the images from camera to computer. It burns out the circuitry in the G9. I'm hoping Canon does something for me and the others because of falty workmanship. Meanwhile, the G10 has several improvements over the G9. A wider lens, several new modes, more pixels and in my opionion an improved body. What I don't like: To make the zoom wider they took away from the telephoto end. Also it's hard to find a replacement battery. I can't find another battery (anywhere) locally and will have to order ...

  • Opening the box.

I have been upgrading my Canon Powershot line forever. When I saw this at my niece's wedding I knew it was next in line. Upon opening the box I could see another fine product from Canon. The camera is well built, has a great viewing screen and some marvelous options that are new to the line. Face recognition is really cool. The pictures are crisp and the shutter is super fast. If you are looking to replace an SD Series, I would suggest not to as this model is slightly more bulky and heavy. It will not slip into your pocket. But if you have an IS Series or even the older G Series, I would say that this guy is without a doubt way ahead. In brief, I give it "2 Thumbs Up"......NF
