    So glad I found these books

    I am delighted that I bought all 3 books of this 3-part series. I didn't grow up singing hymns but have learned to love them, and this whole series is so informative about the authors and includes so many hymns. Sometimes I also use the hymns as a devotional, as the lyrics of most are very Scriptural. These books are truly a treasure.

    Your soul will sing as you read this book!

    If you like old hymns, you'll love this book and its companion (there are two volumes). Old hymns stir up something deep in me that I really can't define. But it's there, and it's real. Robert Morgan has done a lot of research, and each hymn is presented with words, music, and background. It's the background that gives life to the book. Many hymns have come out of tragedy, struggles, and pain, and knowing a little bit about the hymnwriter's life gives a depth and poignancy to the words and music of the hymns they have written. This is a very readable (and "singable") book, and old, familiar hymns will take on a new dimension as you discover the spiritual atmosphere from which they were written.     Then Sings My Soul - a perfect name for the book.

    Most of my favrite hymns are reviewed in these books and I love that the music scores are also included. I find myself singing and contemplating the words along with the Bible verses that inspired so many of the composers through the years. I highly recommend these books.

    Then Sings My Soul, Vol. 2, by Robert Morgan (2004)

    A well-written, affordable history of favorite hymns. The words and music of each hymn are accompanied by a scripture reference and a one page essay dealing with the author(if known)and the writing of this particular hymn. In addition to the table of contents and an introduction by the author, there are alphabetical listing by titles, author/songwriter, and first line of hymn. Excellent as a study book, reference, or source of program or worship inspiration. I suggest buying either volumes one and two separately or the combined volume, which contains all 250 hymns.

    I was looking for the song book "Then Sing MY Soul" song book by Robert Morgan for a Christmas present for my elderly Aunt who plays piano and organ. I had seen the song book in a catalog on sale, however they were sold out. I decided to look for it on ebay. I was very happy with the price I pay for it on ebay. I loved the appears, content and condition of the song book and DVD. They were new and wrapped very well. It was just what I was looking for hymn of pass decades.
