  • Bomberman DS, one of the classics

The game is primarily what bomberman is. No gimmicks get in the way, though the series didn't have too much trouble with gimmicks except for the infamous Act Zero and perhaps some cheap sports and racing games. The game has 100 levels, that keeps you pretty busy. What makes this game different from the rest besides the extra worlds and levels is the incorporation of the item system. When you collect items and power ups, you keep them till you access via touch screen. Each level has a bonus level where you have to kill off enemies on the bottom screen to be able to reach the spoils on the top screen. Due to the item function, I found this game to be kind of easy. I beat all 100 levels in about 3 hours. A drawback of the game is the fact that it's a release title, thus it came out before ...

  • Bomberman - Great Group Game

Another fun addition to the Bomberman family. While the single player game play is very similar to previous Bomberman titles, the touch screen feature adds an extra bit of versatility to the gameplay. The dual screen boss fights are nice as well. While this game can be frustrating at times, it is still fun and challenging. Its greatest strength lies in the DS Download gameplay. The variety of modes and challenges you can play with friends will keep a group entertained for quite some time. The times I played with friends, we played until our batteries were drained. What's more, you and up to 7 other friends can play from a single game card; the more friends the more fun.

  • Bomberman Battling

The Bomberman series is classic, and I have played several of them on different Nintendo consoles, but I have never played Bomberman on the Nintendo DS before now. I like how there are several different stages for Battle Mode, and the fact that some stages use voice activation for laying out or detonating bombs. I also enjoy that up to seven other players can join in the game with a single card download or I can choose to just battle against the CPU. Although the Battle Mode is excellent, I do not care much for the story mode. It is not very creative and the Quick Save function is very confusing. I wish that I could save anytime I want to, but the game only automatically saves at half way points. For example, there are several islands that you can progress to, and each island has ten ...

  • Not as good as Super Bomberman (SNES)

Having enjoyed Super Bomberman for SNES and Bomberman 64 for the N64, you can't go wrong with Bomberman DS... wrong! This game is geared more towards the SNES version, but has a lot of things I didn't like. One is it's hard to judge where your character is standing on the screen. You think you are completely out of harm's way, but get blown up. Also, there are way too many powerups in the game. It makes the game almost unfair for the enemy. The single player adventure mode is lame, but the multiplayer feature has potential to be great... IF i can figure out where to stand out of harm's way. THis game gets a 3 but has potential for a 4.

  • Bombs away!

When I first purchased Bomberman I had some sceptism about how the game was going to be. I had never previosuly bough a Bomberman game and I had no idea frankly what Bomberman was about. When I first played Bomberman, I realized how easy the controls were: to lay a bomb was the "a" button and that was basicly it. The game includes an adventure mode where you play through levels blowing up your enenmies, which is a somewhat short adventure taking about 6 hours, depending on your skill. But what I thought was the greatest feature of the game: the replay value. The multiplayer for Bomberman is unbeatable. Up to 8 players can download play from only one player for total insaneness. There are a variety of levels and options for the multiplayer battles which also greatly inhances the value of ...
