    Great movie.!

    I watched this with a young friend who was too young to have seen it when it came out in 1978. She loved it and I will keep it in my dvd library. In spite of the age of the film, the movie is still wonderful. The disc was in perfect condition.

  • Langella's turn at "bat" is pretty good.

    Dracula (1979) was the film that made me fall in love with Frank Langella who plays the infamous Count Dracula. Like many versions of Bram Stoker's iconic novel, this film took many liberties with the source material, especially the love interest. Mina and Lucy switch places when it comes to the love of Dracula's life, but there's nothing really wrong with that. Kate Nelligan as Lucy is the object of Dracula's affections. The great Sir Laurence Olivier just looks a bit bored, saying "blood" like "blued". It's still a good ride, although a bit dated. And before anyone makes comments about Dracula having no fangs? Bela Lugosi didn't have any either.

  • Well made movie A+++++

    Frank langellas version of dracula from bram stokers original story. I loved this movie, great acting and special effects, very interesting and captivating. I really enjoyed watching this movie and i highly recommend it to all vampire fanatics like me.

  • Underappreciated!

    What an awesome film! Underappreciated and nearly forgotten. A wonderful adaptation of the Dracula story. Wonderful performances by Sir Laurence Olivier, Frank Langella and Donald Pleasence. In fact the entire cast. Great direction and production values, movie story moves along at a fine pace. Never dull or boring constantly engaging. If you've never seen this do yourself a favor and buy yourself a copy today!

  • Dracula 1979 Frank Langella

    This is undoubtedly the best Dracula movie ever!!!! Even though I first saw it back in the 1990's - the movie stuck with me. I saw the most interesting documentary on making the movie also. They really took a lot of time and trouble to get some of the magnificent shots and effects (they didn't have all the graphics tech in 1989) Also the actors were active in making some of the decisions. Is a masterpiece! JW
