    innocents abroad

    mark twains works are universally great to far beyond tha.i read this the first time in my teens and now forty years later it is being judged by the other body of works. its not as funny as roughing it,its not as surreally beautiful as life on the mississippi... it still is an excelent read, not really anything for a long time on the beach but great as a travel book you can put down anytime you want. its not generally available so finding it on ebay as a used book was a nice score. i got a good price on it for my permanent library, paid less than ten bucks to have it in my hand and enjoy meeting again the gang which stormed europe on one of the first major tours of the continent. huckleberry finn is still where american literature begins,,, this is just a quiet moment with a great friend. ...
