Worth the watch more than once
Dead Presidents is an amazing movie from start to finish. The story line was well put together and the characters beyond engaging. The film will take you through a hodgepodge of emotions but believe me when I say it's interesting. Imagine being a senior in high school wondering what's the next chapter as well as move in life as stated in this movie some people don't like school and would rather work a 9 to 5 or in list in the arm forces. The main character decides to do just that he then began to deal with the adult world being a father, trying to find work after coming home from war. Not the easiest task for some. This movie although sad for the most part however it doesn't skip a beat on being funny. After all Chris Tucker is one of the characters in the movie that is friends with the ... Caution this movie is not kid friendly but for the mature audience it'll be worth the laugh and though due to the levels of understanding, compassion and ways that some people will be able to relate to people who've fought in war and due to it now suffering an addiction(s) to deal with flashbacks due to war etc. The movie is packed with amazing actors as mentioned before along with Terrence Howard, Keth David just to name a couple more. Lastly I'd recommend having a strong stomach due to the blood and gore in certain senses in this movie. You'll definitely remember a thing or two about this movie after watching it for the fist time. The product/movie is a reasonable price and the movie is absolutely a good one. 5 starts from me.

Very underrated movie. Great quality actors
I like how this movie takes you into the mind of a young ambitious teenager, ("Anthony Curtis") that has plans to go into the army and better himself only to come out with a different perspective on life. Things have taken a different turn with his family and friends and as a result, shapes his mind in a way that takes him on a journey of no return. This movie is a very realistic depiction of how some people who have been model citizens all of their lives can turn into an common criminal. It leaves you in suspense, and the ending is very sad. This movie has a diverse and great cast of characters, not a bunch of A-listers, but REAL talented actors who have never gone wrong in any of their roles. This movie was slept on in theaters but has become a cult classic with urban ... Anthony Curtis is a bright 18 year old from the Bronx who, in 1968, is stepping into manhood. Choosing not to immediately enroll in college, Anthony decides to leave his mentor Kirby, girlfriend Juanita Benson and her sister Delilah, to enlist in the Marine Corps. His buddy Skip and friend Jose soon join him. It is 1972 when Anthony returns to his neighborhood, only to discover that he is not treated as a hero. Though for a while he manages a part-time job in a butcher's shop, Anthony, with his girlfriend Juanita, who bore his daughter shortly after he enlisted, is living in an infested South Bronx apartment, barely making ends meet. Afforded little respect, and eventually unemployed and desperate, Anthony feels he has no alternative but to take part in a scheme to obtain some ... This is one of my favorite Hughes brothers movies. I totally disagree with the previous review. Larenz Tate is such a wonderful actor who has not got enough credit from Hollywood. This movie told a moving story of how a young black man, who graduated from high school, went on to serve his country, came back home, and couldn't get a decent job. This could have been based on a true story, because, a lot of men went away to serve our beautiful country, and came back to nothing. Anthony (Larenz Tate)just did what he thought he had to do. The movie also shows that crime does not pay. This is a wonderful movie. I would also like to suggest all the Hughes brothers movies. Dead Presidents presents the story of three good friends growing up in the Bronx during their senior year in high school. The Vietnam war is occuring during this as well and eventually the three end up fighting in Vietnam and each of them suffers various consequences. Returning home from war, each of them faces challenges that are difficult to overcome and they decide to steal money as a means of overcoming their challenges. They form a band of thieves, so to speak, who are friends and/or acquaintences. Dead Presidents does an excellent job of portraying various issues that real life war veterans face: Employment difficulties, post-traumatic stress, nightmares and possible addictions. This movie contains a good amount of humor, suspense and drama. The soundtrack is excellent, ...
