Joan of Arc, One of God's True Messenger
This movie is based on a true story about Joan of Arc, one of God's True Messenger's appointed by Him through Saint Catherine and other Saints, including Saint Michael, The Arc Angel who battles for God Almighty against satan and his legions. This movie includes many great actors, and all gave an excellent performance. I give this movie an A.

Joan of Arc, Teen Heroine
This is the only Joan of Arc film I know of with an actual teenager in the title role (Joan was 17 when she first came to prominence). All the other actresses who played Joan were too old! Leelee Sobieski as Joan is credible but oddly deadpan at times, though this may be appropriate in playing a confused peasant girl called to an extraordinary mission. On-location settings are alternately gorgeous and gritty. You can feel the cold, the mud, the peasants' desperation, versus the luxury and opulence of the courtier's lives. The cast is terrific, especially Jacqueline Bisset, still a beauty in middle age, Neil Patrick Harris as the treacherous Charles VII, Powers Booth, Robert Loggia, Olympia Dukakis, Shirley MacLaine, veteran character actor Maury Chaykin as the corpulent Sir Robert, and ... It is not the full 4hr TV movie. It is the condensed 1hr and 42min version.
I know that this is not the 4hr movie shown on TV. There are scenes cut out of the movie. The one scene that they should have kept in this movie is when, after the burning, Jean DeMetz returns to Joan's home and parents and sticks her banner in the ground for them to have. I have the long ending where Jean DeMertz brings Joan's banner home. My youtube channel is Rtmax45 under Joan of Arc. This is the real ending to the movie. This is when the credits start showing. What an excellent movie!
I love this movie. I had not watched it in many years. I had previously owned it on VHS. It is engaging, but has a sad ending of course. Excellent costumes and characters.
