As a huge fan of Frank Herbert and science fiction in general this is perhaps the best of the Dune series written by the late Herbert. Many millenium after Paul Altreides ascension to Emperor, this follow up of "Dune Heretics" is a must read for anyone who enjoys the possible galactic futures that may engulf mankind. The intense novel that revolves around the Bene Gesserit witches and their unique outlook into the universe of man, as well as their defense of the old empire against a new, almost overwhelming threat, is completely enthralling. The characters are alive, and the descriptions of the Bene Gesserit sisterhood are simply not to be missed. Herbert manages, while showing us clearly the differences and unique talents of the witches, to again give a keen insight into mankind as a ... It is a time of desperation and intrigue, at time when even the oldest and most insidious of all, the Bene Gesserit are collapsing. In this novel those of the scattering return. The Honored Matres are striking at the door and the universe once again faces a total redistribution of power. Good, but not excellent
Item received was a library book. So with all the markings and cover damage item is less valuable for collection series. I was looking to complete this original series without any additional markings, however the contents are what’s important. Just slightly disappointed.

Brilliant
Frank Herbert is a genius! Chapterhouse, like all the Dune novels, is a journey into the relm of Frank Herbert's unbelievable imagination. The magnificent scope of his story telling drives you on page after page. It's difficult to say if Chapterhouse is better than any of the other Dune chronicals that come before it, but it is surely a great Herbert masterpiece.
