    Newer radio with same part number will work in an earlier year VW.

    As long as the part number is the same it doesn't matter what year radio it is. The only thing is that the new radios will need an unlock code. I brought the radio to Volkswagon before installing to get the code. That cost me 65 bucks. Installed the radio, up came the code unlock keypad, I put in the code given by Volkswagon and it worked fine. I installed a 2016 radio in a 2011.

    Excellent Upgrade for a 2011

    The compatibility chart shows it isn't comptabile with a 2011, but it is and works great! It adds several phone features, such as being able to Dial and mute from the touch screen, as well as load your address book.

    Original radio went completely dead. Matched the exact part number and saw it also came with code. Installed perfectly and all I needed to do is transfer the old Sirius account over! Perfect!
