Excellent Amplifier-See below for my experienced performance specifics
A very high quality amplifier for the price. Excellent for midrange and tweeter speakers on four channels. I would recommend a larger or non-shared (single channel) amplifier for the bottom end or bass speakers. Channel separation is excellent, this is the ability to play a completely different sound from the left and the right. Good channel separation is what produces the stereo or imagery effect with the sound. It makes the sound have depth. Dynamic range is excellent. This is the ability to play a very loud sound and then play a very soft sound. A good example would be hmmm maybe Mozart with the loud crescendos and then almost silence and a very soft sound. Frequency response is also excellent. This is the actual ability to play the actual notes or sound pitch of the very very ... A very high quality amplifier for the price. Power consumption is reasonably efficient and you should not need to buy a larger alternator nor buy a large capacitor to run this amplifier. The larger alternator is to supply more current, aka amps, to feed the amplifier and the capacitor is to supply the power surge requirements of bass speakers. Note: If an amplifier ask for more power than an alternator and battery can supply instantaneously (we are talking small fractions of a second here) the amplifier quality will drop off for the period the amplifier is starved for power. What this means is if you want your amp to hit the very low beats hard you have to supply the power and the way to guarantee that is with a large capacitor. Please be aware that a large capacitor cannot replace an upgraded alternator because a capacitor only suppliments the power supply for very brief periods, but we notice those brief periods as harder hitting bass notes. The connections are straight forward and simple to secure. I have not had any issues with this amp cooling under the rear seat of my SUV. Overall I would say that this is an excellent amplifier that is comparable with those costing significantly more $$$. I am an Electrical Engineer and I tried to break it down into every day language. My apologies if I did not succeed. Also I ran this amplifier with Focal 165, I believe a 6 1/2" mid and 1" tweeter. Very sweet silky sounds from my alpine head unit. Lastly the bass was formidable from this set up but a sub is scheduled for install as soon as time permits.

Amazing Amp!!
If you want the best you have to purchase JL products. This amp is amazing, I can turn the volume all the way up on my head unit and there is no distortion what so ever. Just extremely crisp highs, and mids. The lows are taken care by my sub. My whole system is JL with the exception of my head unit. Head Unit: Kenwod KDC-X993, Front speakers: JL C2-650 components, Rear speakers: JL C2-650x coaxial, Sub-woofer: JL stealth box 10" W3 for Toyota Tacoma, Amplifiers: 1 500/1v2 and 1 300/4v2. Great products! Great System! JL is always at the top. I highly recommend this amp.If you want the best you have to purchase JL products. JL amps are the best I have ever heard! I have owned alot of amps but none even come close to the true power and clean sound of the JL amps. They can be expensive but trust me they are worth every penny the quilty is second to none. The power is amazing I bought this amp to power my focal performance 6.5 but I wanted to see how much power it had so I hooked it up to my mtx 9500 12 inch and man you would think I was sending 1000watts to it. look it up on youtube sonata with subwoofer username mdvickers89. So I have not hooked it to my focals yet but I know that if this amp can push 1000watt rms mtx9500 it should be able to push 100rms 6.5. JL should be the only amp you should ever think to buy period.JL amps are the best I have ever heard! This amp is pretty fly for a white guy. I give it a 10!! 10!! Lotsa powa!! Momma say mamma saw ma mackusa! I woke up quick, at about noon and thought that I had to get in my ride with my new amp. JL Audio, know's how to party. JL Audio, know's how to party. In the city, of H-town... In the city, of syrup. Sippin, tippin, on THE drink of champions... How in the heck am I going to get 100 flipping characters in this review. The amp is awesome, period. It is pushing 2-18's in my 64 Impala. Maybe not, just 2-12's in my chuby HHR.
