Perfect fit for 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab
As you have likely read online or watched on YouTube, these are a royal pain to remove. There is no such thing as "popping them out". You'll need a ball joint press, so if you do not own one, then use the loaner program at your local auto parts supplier of choice. First: There are forum commenters and online videos indicating to grind the four large rivets from the lower control arm. STOP! Not sure where this misinformation originated, but disregard it completely! Do not place your life, the life of your family and the life of other motorists at risk due to bad information. The ball joints can be removed and replaced on vehicle. It is hard, but you can do it! Chisel the retaining ring first, then using the ball joint press, remove the old ball joint by pressing downward. It will be a ... The Moog ball joints are splined to ensure a proper bite in the lower control arm. While installing, ensure the boot grease weep hole is turned towards the engine. This prevents your catastrophic and untimely demise due to grease contact with the brake rotors. Also be sure to not damage the boots during installation. Finally, the Moog joints are as good as or better than OEM and include a grease fitting so you can periodically refresh the grease. Buy Moog and do it once! I hope this helps.
