    Excellent value

    I have the Canon XA-10 camcorder, which is a higher end camera, and the Vixia HF G20 has comparable image quality. The G20 is very easy to use and is perfect for "run and gun" opportunities.

    Just What I Needed

    Nothing about this camera surprised me. I already had one that was everything I needed it to be. I have a YouTube channel and the content calls for two-camera shoots. I tried to go a cheap route with the second camera, but too many issues. I finally broke down and bought a second HF G20. Excellent image quality. I'm sure it has a number of great features that I simply don't need; but what I do need, it provides. Sound quality is ideal. I need cameras that accept outside audio feeds and this one does. I need cameras that will feed to an outside monitor and this one does. It's just a decent camera for my needs.

    Great Pro-Sumer camera

    Image is good enough I've used it as a C cam on broadcasts; really forgiving for anyone starting out; I use it professionally for webcasts and corporate videos. Good run & gun, point & shoot video cam. Also great low-light performance. Gain is smooth and very little noise. Same as the XA series minus the XLR and some menu features.

    Not even a competition for the best

    Canon has always been a good camera to me. My G 30 broke so I got a G 20 this G 20 has been nothing but amazing really good picture quality easy to use and handle. I'd recommend this for any blogger vlogger content creator or streamer looking to upgrade from a WebCam to this bad boy.

    Interlacing at 60i is not good

    Shooting action at 60i is worthless on this. You just get a weird doubling effect for everything in motion. Best at 30p but not as clear as a camera that would hit 60p. Also, this does not record to MP4. I think those are the only drawbacks. Everything else is superb. Really nice auto settings. Great controls. Recommend this for everything except sports recording.
