No perimeter troughs to catch excess fluids so they will run onto your countertop. I use this to prep raw veggies almost every day. Wet vegies will slide a little more than on wood. The product looks as described, although the silver is thin and does not look like it will hold up over time. The price was good, so you get what you pay for.
