This ProCurve 2650-PWR switch is compliant with three Ethernet standards defined by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). These are the IEEE 802.3 Type 10Base-T, IEEE 802.3u Type 100Base-TX, and IEEE 802.3ab Type 10000Base-T gigabit Ethernet. Integrated with 48 RJ-45 10/100 ports, the ProCurve J8165A is a high-density switch that gives you plenty of connectivity options to link your computers, laptops, printers, servers, storage devices, and even other switches. Enjoy up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) of wired transmission speeds, which can still double when operating at full-duplex mode. To extend your networking capabilities to fiber optic connectivity and even faster uplinks, this switch also includes two dual-personality gigabit Ethernet ports that can function as either 10/100/1000 RJ-45 ports or as mini-GBIC slots to incorporate tranceivers. The J8165A lets you scale mission-critical operations by enabling you to add hot-swappable modules without a break in networking services. You do not have to worry about interrupting vital business processes as these modules can be integrated directly into the switch without having to shut down the device. Eliminating wall power reliance significantly reduces installation costs for your business. With built-in support for the IEEE 802.3af networking standard for Power over Ethernet (PoE), this feature enables data cables to power up your Internet address (IP) phones, wireless access points, IP-based surveillance cameras, and other IEEE 802.3af PoE-enabled devices. PoE saves you from additional electrical wiring, which in turn lowers your total cost of ownership.
