Item was delivered faster than estimate, was well packed and protected, and arrived as described - almost. All the listing said was "Like new", with a basic description of the case and the limited edition number. There were also replica lobby cards and a booklet included too - nice surprise! Great seller!

The DVD was EXACTLY as described in the listing, in like new condition and shipped VERY quickly, well packaged. The seller responded promptly to my questions in a friendly courteous manner and advised me when it was to be shipped. Very pleased and look forward to more purchases. A top drawer seller!

This seller is one of the best on Ebay. My order arrived fast and in mint condition. When I asked to return the item because of an oversight on my part when placing my order, the seller was extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. The refund was issued immediately upon receipt of the returned item. Has been added to my favorite sellers list. Highest rating! 5+ stars

  • Another Standard-Setter from Criterion

Criterion has digitally restored a nice-looking print of the film and the color has been beautifully timed. As adaptations of “unfilmable” modernist novels go, this is one of the better ones; it doesn’t hurt to have a Harold Pinter screenplay in such an instance. Different from the novel in that, while Fowles’s TFLW deconstructs “the Victorian novel,“ Reisz’s film deconstructs “the film adaption of the Victorian novel,” and does so in unique ways rather than attempting to transcribe Fowles’s strategies of deconstruction. (Reisz, by the way, was a leading director of the British New Wave, infusing the emerging “angry young man” genre of British lit and drama with an appropriately Neo-realist flavor.) Not a complete success, but eminently worth watching. Streep and Irons are both excellent, ...
