        Amazing quality and works as intended!

        Not my first of this product, managed to lose the last one while trying out some man vs wild. The build quality is excellent. The needle had a great motion and floats well. Includes an instruction booklet and a carrying case with a clip for mounting. Quick and easy readings both day and night! The tritium inserts make a tremendous difference over standard glow in the dark options.

        High quality build with impactful drawback

        The dial gets stuck when rotating. you have to shake it for it to move, even when nearly level. On the other hand, its built with high quality material and feels like it will last a long time.

        Reliable Compass

        An extremely rugged and accurate compass. Do yourself a favor and own one good compass...this one. It is not lightweight, but will not break. Magnetically dampened, so no liquid to leak or develop bubbles. The tritium illumination is interesting, but I doubt that I will ever need to navigate thru the woods at night. For those who need night illumination, the tritium has an effective life of about 12 years, after which the compass is difficult to read in the dark. That makes the date of manufacture important. There are a series of 3 two digit numbers stamped on the inside of the lid. The first set is the year, and the second set is the month.         This is a genuine, well designed lensatic compass. Using this compass will free you from batteries and software-driven technology. You will navigate using your skill, training, and ability. Perfect! The tritrium coating gives just enough light in darkness to be able to shoot an azimuth without wrecking your natural night vision. Getting your bearings at night is particularly challenging, and this compass is properly designed to help you do that. I am very happy with this, and expect it will easily withstand many miles of hiking and use in all weather.
