    Seymour Duncan upgrade

I wanted to upgrade a 29 year old Aria bass (Japan, great neck) to get a more "modern" sound with good output and better high frequency response. Easy to install and the bass is now brighter and more punchy as I wanted. Would recommend for a similar upgrade.

  • Seymour Duncan Quarter pound

This is a semi hot pick up. Perfect for the 60-80's rock that I play. The price for the quality is reasonable. With easy to follow installation instructions.

  • Pure Seymour Duncan thunder!

I love these pickups! The sound is a nice balance between mellow and punchy, and I love how Seymour Duncan includes wiring instructions. If you want better bass pickups, I highly recommend these!

  • Did you ever have a battery die during a gig?

Your bass really doesn't need batteries, it needs better pickups. I have used SPB 3 pickups since the 1980's. I sold my bass and felt a strange emptiness, so I bought another bass - but the sound was wrong for me. I pulled all the electronics and put in a set of 1/4 pounders for P-J. I love them. From the very first notes of testing the bass my favorite sound came back. No need for batteries with these pickups, your guitar won't die on you in the middle of a gig. If you really need a bass preamp, my advice is use a pedal. My inexpensive bass now plays like a million bucks.
