  • Not what I expected

I expected this book would be about stories from the "dismal trade", educating those of us with an interest on the inside workings of the undertaker. Granted that expectation was all mine, but aside from not being what I expected, the author is full of himself. While he was mildly humorous in places, his style was often repetitive. He struck me as somewhat bitter and pompous. His interest in regaleing his adventures in Europe and with his poet friends was evident and frankly of no interest to me.

  • Respectful and enlightening look into the world of funeral homes.

I admire this author's respect for the deceased and his respect for their survivors. Well thought out and written. He and his family have a demeanor that comforts the families who have lost loved ones, and will put them at ease about how they were cared for during their final journey to eternal rest.
