This author is one of my favorites for ages babies-preschool.I'm a retired school teacher. I bought this book for my children and they've requested I buy it again for my grandchildren. This book has lovely illustrations of multi-ethnic children engaged in age-appropriate activities. It can be read as written, used for vocabulary (Ex. "Where is the nose?" or the reverse questions "What is this called?")It is a happy book. I've purchased most of this author's other titles. They are great to take when one has to sit quietly for awhile for appointments or meetings because you can keep the child engaged. Tall Babies Books
I purchased these books for my daughter 47 years ago and now have to purchase another set for her 2 daughters. The eldest granddaughter has the original set and the youngest now has her own set. These books have been much loved for many years and will be for years to come. Great Books for 9 months and up. They will love them and keep them to pass on to their children! Moms and Grandmoms alike will be happy when they buy these books. The baby animal book is the other one I refer to as a set. She always seemed happy to have it read to her, and when she was old enough to carry it around she would find it a 'read' it herself. It's sturdy and wipes clean. The illustrations are charming and timeless, simple and colorful, of babies doing baby things. I've thought of the book often over the years, especially when I see some of the things sold for babies and toddlers. Search for other books by Gyo Fujikawa- but start with this one.
