The extended range of the Linksys E4200’s high-quality antenna means this wireless router gives unrivaled distance within your home network. The easy-to-see indicator light lets you know when your E4200 router is on by showing a steady light. It pulses when booting up or updating its firmware. Finally, if an error occurs, the light uses a flash to indicate a problem. The WPA2 encryption and SPI firewall improves the security of earlier routers keeps your network secure from outside intrusion. The four Gigabit Ethernet ports, using both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, allow for fast file sharing between other Gigabit-enabled devices. For ease of use, the Ethernet ports use blue color-coding, and the Internet ports use yellow. The Linksys router also comes with a USB storage port, allowing you to connect a USB drive to share files at home. The E4200 includes a built-in UPnP AV media server for seamless streaming of video or audio files to a UPnP-compatible device, such as game consoles, using the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands for better connection, speed, and less interference between gadgets. As with other routers, all this is controlled using the easy-to-setup Cisco Connect software on your home computer.     Great home update

    Great use as the dual band gives options. I relabeled SSID and passwords. Using the USB port on back with a multi GB flash drive for music and some quick photo storage and sharing for project. Also back up on external HDD, but leave what I want to use. Unsure on the maximum readable drive size of the USB, since a external drive did not get recognized. Maybe a power issue. Otherwise we'll usable and I am still receiving 66mbs DL speed with this. Connection to router with Ethernet cable, not wifi, foes read at GB speeds, if you device can process that fast, but is worthy of a great thumbs up.
