This is the least expensive option when you want to run Ethernet over coax. Forget about non-powered solutions. I have lots of unused coax runs. I do not have any services like DirectTV. I am just using these adapters to add "Ethernet" runs over coax.

DECAs worked better than Powerline Adapters

My house is 1600sq ft (2-story) Modem is located on 2nd Floor. The Deca setup I have is my Internet comes into the house via Xfinity cable and my Directv SWM is on other COAX cable. So for me I had to attach the Deca to my closest Satellite COAX to my modem via ethernet with a SWM two way adapter on the COAX to go to the Genie Receiver. Then use a Two-way SWM on the COAX at each GENIE location with one end going to the DECA and the Ethernet going to the ANdroid BOX or HDR receiver and the COAX going to the GENIE. My base ethernet speed is 200Mbps. Roof slope made it impossible to run ethernet cable inside. So the DECAs at each GENIE location too my Speed to 80 to 60Mbps (with VPN) which is far better than the TPLINK 1200 Powerlines which only delivered 30 to 12 Mbps per location. I have ...

  • Awesome product, a little price but worth it

Excellent product. By purchasing this pair of Moca devices, it enabled me to utilize an existing co-ax run. (This saved the time and purchase price of CAT7 to run CAT7 and replace the co-ax.) II simply connected one Moca device with provided Ethernet patch cable to the router in the basement and connected the other Moca device with provided Ethernet patch cable to the wifi extender on 2nd floor. We now have total coverage.

  • Same technology for less money

I use these to run ethernet to a shop that is too far from the router for regular CAT5. When CAT5 is buried the acceptable distance is reduced. With these devices I can run coax and put one of these on each end to convert to and from ethernet. These work just as well as though sold for far more because they are marketed for that purpose. These are the same technology. They work great.

  • Perfect for Ethernet over coax

I imagined carrying the Ethernet over coax from my modem to the basement using these, and man it worked! Now I have two different routers on the same line and my wifi is perfect everywhere in the house!
