Item worked as described resolving a business down situation. Over-night shipping required additional deadlines that were not disclosed on listing. Seller was considerate of my complaints regarding shipping issues and did best to resolve to mutual satisfaction.

    Surprisingly good value!

Was somewhat skeptical picking up used DDR2 motherboards, but have since purchased 15 of these basic, but nice Vostro 220 models. I do have a couple of DDR3 Vostro 230 systems, and I have yet to see a performance deficit with the DDR2, using 3GHz E8400 Core2 processor. With an inexpensive, but adequate video card like the Radeon HD 7570 or the FirePro V4800 you can easily game with these at doable (30+) frame rates in full 1080 HD on a system that will cost you less than $120

These are decent motherboards for older tech and good enough for Win 7 BUT.....

These are mainly pulls from Dell Vostro 220 Mini Towers. While good boards there are some factors to consider. The Vostro 220 Mini Tower has the I/O plate built in to the case so you will not get an I/O plate and will have to customize one to fit the board. I purchased one for a Foxconn D41 motherboard that was really close. Also, the cpu cooler/fan unit actually screwed into the case motherboard plate so you will need a cpu backplate to mount the cooler unit. While you could use generic socket 775 coolers, I've read that the bios will not properly operate it although I've not confirmed this as the original Dell cpu cooler units are readily available. These are all conditions assuming you will be putting it into your own case. Finding a Dell Vostro 220 Mini tower case would remedy these ...

  • use only with dell

Most major boards can be used with any application, ubuntu, windows 10, windows xp, etc. However, this board's bios has integral items within it which are not adjustable. ie, front audio cable error, usb error, etc. These items cannot be adjusted in bios so everytime my ubuntu 16.04 or Windows 10 boots up you have to select F1 to continue. The board works fine with bits and pieces I had lying around, such as sata HD, sata DVD, E5200 core2duo and 667 memory and matx cases. So the only cost was the board and it works but you cannot get around the bios. A shame as if foxcomm offered a similar board's bios I would try to update to leave all the dell issues behind.

  • Excellent motherboard.

I'm using this motherboard for a Windows Server 2008R2 machine with the Windows Home Server snap in, it supports up to 8gb ram and 4 3ghz sata hard drives. It has two PCI-E slots and two PCI slots. I plan on adding a e-sata w/port replication and sata port PCI-E card and a USB 3.1 board. I just need to get a bigger case. The server os install was very smooth, only the on board VGA was not installed. It's an Intel VGA gpu, but I'm having a problem installing the Windows 7 drivers. I streamed a couple of movies from the server using a couple of formats and didn't have any buffering, even while using WiFi. I installed the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 1333 fsb and 4 GB of ram. The motherboard supports 1066 fsb, but ramped up to 1333. This board is awesome.

  • Economical repair

A client brought me his Vostro 220s which was dead. I diagnosed it as having a bad motherboard. I was able to repair it by purchasing this motherboard/CPU combo. I informed the client that it was a used motherboard/CPU, and he was okay with that. The motherboard swap went very smoothly, and after reactivating Windows (required because of the motherboard swap), everything worked fine. Client is very happy.
