    Ian At Her Best

    Sound quality excellent. Lyrics worth listening to. I saw her in concert in '79 and she did most of the material on this album and it's held up well for we Ian fans. An extremely intelligent woman who pours her heart and and the emotions run through her music. It sounds really nice on a quality analog or tube 2 channel system of that same era.....there's just something about that voice that comes through.

    Between The Lines Janis Ian CD

    I was stunned by this collection of songs, and am as convinced today as the first time I listened this is a work of genius from a profoundly effected artist...Janis has continued onward as the important creative force she is, and I have not only enjoyed her work but also her live performances. This collection of songs is for introspective rainy days, quiet nights, etc...simply put..beautiful, haunted masterpieces not only musically but vocally, and the way she goes about expressing her feelings in words is as clever, as it is provocative, all points are made with poetic accuracy by way of her sad velvety, questioning voice..and mastery of her guitar.

    The great Janis Ian... still amazing

    An artist who was way ahead of her time, years ago. Excellent musician, talented poet, down to earth person. She has been a part of my life since I first saw her in 1976, in concert, and she doesn't even know the effect she had on me. Her music is embedded in my past, my present and my future. You owe it to yourself to embrace her talent and beautiful songwriting. You won't be disappointed in this CD.

    I JUST CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF JANIS. HER SULLEN, MOODY, OOZING WARM AND STICKY FLOWING LYRICS GIVE YOU THAT FEELING YOU GET WHEN YOU HAVE WOLFED DOWN TOO MANY PANCAKES WITH BUTTER AND SYRUP. LIKE, WHENEVER I'M FEELING A LITTLE TOO MANIC OR I'M FEELING A LITTLE CABIN FEVER WHEN WE'RE SNOW BOUND, I JUST PUT ON SOME JANIS ON. SHE GETS ME RIGHT BACK DOWN TO FEELING MOODY AND DEPRESSED. THIS GOES GOOD WITH COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF MOULSONS OR CROWN ROYAL BEFORE YOU HAVE TO GO TO THE COURT, FUNERALS, OR THE DENTIST. I HAD TO BUY THIS ON EBAY BECAUSE WHEN I WENT TO THE MUSIC EXCHANGE IN THE CITY, THE LADY TOLD ME THEY DON'T BUY USED JANIS AND THAT'S WHY THE DON'T HAVE ANY TO SELL. WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO HER ANYWAY, EH?

    Her best work..outstanding..never ever tire of this one.

    Just rediscovering..this was the best of her albums...has everything to put you in a relaxed mood..At Seventeen..In The Winter..Light a Light..Tea and Sympathy..I truly feel priviledged to have heard her live in 1978 when I was living in Montreal Canada. No doubt in my mind..she was the absolute best (bar none) female vocalist in the mid-70's till the early eighties..now I'll have to start rebuying all these cd's...Stars..Aftertones..it's all so good..
