Personally I think the Dell Precision M4600 Had everything going for it, and was designed fairly well except for a critical point of being fragile and one unnecessary section where there is this metal piece just existing for no reason other than likely fullifulling some type of intellectual property that Dell has worked up or one of HP’s patent. This one single section of garbage is what makes me never to recommend the M4600, maybe one day I can upload a video on how to completely reassemble the M4600 without that part or a possible cheap replacement that isn’t 3D printed related. It requires PRECISION to work that section of that laptop and requires excellent organization skills unlike the Probook and Elitebook counterparts that came out the same time the M4600 did , because you need to keep track of it and place it back and ain’t nobody selling it if you break it even though it’s a part that costs less than a cent to produce in bulk. The M4600 only beats the Probook & Elitebook varients by HP ONLY because this model can support an upgrade of an additional 16gb of ram under the keyboard. Once you develop the skill to fix the M4600 at the most difficult point , it becomes good to work with. This laptop supports 32gb of ram. You need to run a Linux Distro like Ubuntu 22.04 to work with this laptop today and work with the shitty non-existent open-source support of the NVIDIA GPU drivers by using a very old but incredible good binary-written properitary driver written by NVIDIA. You can still interact with it , and there is likely a way to make it open-source but nobody has provided support to do so in English forums and forked it successfully to the canonical controlled ubuntu 22.04 community. Youll have to work with the arch linux community to realistically find a person to work with it then somehow make it work in ubuntu 22.04 in open source version although it ISN’T Necessary as runs okay in properitary , it’s really about prinicipal of using open source technology without restriction and under the authority of canonical controlled waters . Xorg drivers suck for the NVIDIA gpu drivers on the M4600.
