This 80+ ... “One of two known versions of the 1942/1943 production run of Camillus Commando Stilettos. This 80+ year old specimen exhibits normal wear, pitting, and scratches that should be expected considering its age and wartime service. The experimental Zinc-Aluminum Alloy handle is completely intact and retains a coating that makes the chequered grip stand out and appear several shades darker than a typical WW2 Marine Raider Stiletto. The blade is just short of the 7 inches specified in the attached production documents and has been reworked back to the original profile. The blade does not have the expected "bright" finish typical of the USMC Raider version and is completely devoid of the usual USMC banner and Camillus Maker's Marks. Rather, the blade retains grey and black shades in the shadow areas and a rough finish underneath, extending from the spine to the still visible factory-sharpened edge lines. The dark leather sheath is in good condition and has blackened highlights and stenciling.”
