    Good CD for Casual Ray Charles Fans

    I liked what Ray Charles music I'd heard over the years in movies, on TV, and on the radio and wanted to have a CD of his music, so I bought this Anthology. I'm very pleased with the CD. It's got "Hit the Road Jack," Georgia On My Mind," "Unchain My Heart," "What'd I Say," "I Gotta Woman," and "America, The Beautiful," as well as many other great recordings, some of them made during live concerts. There are twenty tracks, and the sound quality is good. If you enjoy Ray Charles' masterful style and want to hear more of his music, as I did, then you'll be happy with this CD.

    Ray Charles at his very best.

    Best version ever of GEORGIA ON MY MIND by anyone! Same is true for THAT LUCKY OLD SUN, I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU, CRYING TIME, ELEANOR RIGBY, and AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL. Really great collection of Ray's classics. You will enjoy i PROMISE.

    A feel good CD

    For some unknown reason, all of the newer anthologies that include "Hit The Road Jack" have some lame instrumental version. No Ray and no Marj sparring. This CD has the real, unadulterated Ray. Lots of tunes from the Chitlin circuit and a few, such as the above, when he jumped from Atlantic Records. I didn't find a loser tune in the whole anthology. A fair price for a collection that includes a now apparently unavailable take of the original Hit The Road. If you like one or two of Ray's tunes, you will like a bunch more after listening to this collection.

    Ray Charles Anthology 1990

    My father-in-law who is 90 and nearly blind has become interested in listening to all his favorite songs. He asked for a copy of "Born to Lose", and this was the first cd I could find that had that particular song. There are many songs on the cd that he loves, and there are some he's not quite so fond of but he listens to all of them just to hear the ones he loves. The cd was reasonably priced and was new.
