    Good purchase for the price

    I purchased the 17" Dell E171FPb monitor used several weeks ago and have been very pleased with it's performance. I bought the monitor because I was looking for an inexpensive way to replace a damaged monitor in my family's home office and this has definately fit the bill. The only complaint (& it's a minor one) I have is with the appearance. This monitor is square, not rectangular like most. That took a little getting used to. Other than that, an excellent machine.

    Dell LCD displays White Screen

    Bought this LCD to fix and resell. Unit arrived as discribed. Because of the white screen I knew one of several problems had occured, Either the Tab board welds were bad, the logic board, or the cable. After testing found the logic board was bad. Replaced same and unit has bright clear picture. Excellent vibrant colors. Had I not been able to fix this, there is a company I know of that for a flat rate fixes LCD's. Very reasonable around $56.00 plus pre pay shipping both ways. Either way worth the $16.00 I paid for the monitor.

    Dell E171FPb 17 inch LCD Monitor

    Bought this monitor not working, Replaced LCD screen and Inverter Board. Well worth the investment. Easy to work on, parts readily available. Monitor has a high contrast ratio, clarity is superb and controls easy to use. This monitor replaced a Planar, and the picture is much better and clearer. Using VISTA and Aero, 3D is clear and no screen flicker. Would recommend this Dell to anyone.

    Great monitor, for what it's for.

    I picked this monitor up for practically nothing, as an upgrade for my parents' system. I personally need a bigger monitor, but if you're in the market for a 17" non-widescreen, this is probably as good as any, and better than at least a few. The picture is bright and clear, and the overall design is pleasing to the eye. As a bonus, the bezel around the screen is very narrow - this would make a great second monitor, if you need more workspace. In lightly used condition, these seem to go cheap on eBay, so you can't go wrong!
