About this product

Product Information

A corrupt medieval emperor exploits his citizens and rules his kingdom with impunity. When the nobleman and mentor Bartok (Morgan Freeman) refuses to pay a bribe to one of the emperor's cronies, a death sentence is placed upon him. Bartok's loyal followers are lead by Raiden (Clive Owen), a highly skilled warrior who is deeply affected by Bartok's murder. Raiden and his clan band together to fight back against the oppressive emperor in this medieval action thriller.

    Last Knights (Blu-ray Disc, 2015)

    The acting in LAST KNIGHTS is great, with Owen and Freeman offering their usual standard of excellence. I am also impressed with the performance of Aksel Hennie, who plays the villain, Gezza Mott. Hennie’s Norwegian accent gives his acting a unique flair, an attribute that people probably either love or hate; for me, it works, and it adds a new level of menace to his character. The concept of honor is something almost lost to modern-day society, so movies that hold it in such high regard are a nice change of pace from most of what Hollywood spits out these days. The movie does not bring any new viewpoints or twists on this story, but it still works nonetheless. I recommend it
