    One of the best ever!

    This was one of the first animated movies to show on HBO over three decades ago. My young children loved it beyond words....and now my grandchildern can't get enough of it. The animated characters are set in real life Australian scenes...very unusual and special. This is an incredibly emotional story about a young girl saved and returned home by a kangaroo. Trust me...get this. I rate this as a sleeper classic...one of the best ever made.

    Entertaining and educational

    I still have a tv recording of "Dot and The Kangaroo" and it still holds a place in my heart. This was the first Dot movie I ever saw before "The Whale", "The Koala", and "The Smugglers". I would recommend this movie for children aged 10 or older. I only set that age because of a scary scene in the movie that still sends shivers up my spine and I wouldn't want any child to have nightmares from that scene. Overall, it is a well chosen film that is sure to win your heart.

    long lost movie

    This was a film that I watched when i was a little girl. I haven't seen or heard of it for many years. What a treat when I finally saw it on E-bay. It is a great short cartoon type for all ages, and is very entertaining. This movie takes place in the Austrailian bush and has real life backgrounds, and the characters are cartoons. This one will pull at your heart strings.

    Dot and the Kangaroo stirs emotion in the young and old

    This movie was a childhood favorite with interesting animation techiques and a wonderful storyline. Television doesn't come close to heartfelt, meaningful tales like this one anymore. Unlike the "fluff" animation that airs today, children young and old can find joy, sorrow and important lessons learned in this timeless animated tale.

    Kind of old, but still very sweet

    I watched this as a kid and really liked it. Back then, the animation was impressive, but today, I am sure that kids would be a little disappointed. I still found the story very sweet and enjoyable. I was glad to have found the CD and watch it again.
