    Catchy title----

The first chapter was filled with catty remarks about people iat the wedding. Not a great way to start a book, at least to hold my interest. Hope it gets better.

  • Very Valentine

This is the first book in Ms. Trigiani's new trilogy and it sparkles! Our heroine is 33 year old Valentine Roncalli, a single woman with one goal in her life and that is to save the families custom wedding shoe business. The book really rolls right along as Valentine is invited to enter a chic department stores shoe design competition. She needs a special shoe, one that will knock their stockings off, so to speak, so she heads out to Italy for inspiration. At the same time she is wondering if this trip will undermine her relationship with her boyfriend, Roman Falconi, who is a chef, and as passionate about his career as Valentine is about hers. Valentine finds what she desires on the Isle of Capri in the way of inspiration, but also finds a new challenge that may turn her life around. ...

  • Very Valentine

I heard the author, Adriana Tragiani, speak at a dinner in her honor, at the Main Library in Youngstown, Ohio, and she talked for 2 1/2 hours and no one left. She was hilarious and she writes just like she talks. If you have any Italian heritage, or even any remote connection with Italian culture/food/customs, you will find your relative, friend, whomever, in this most entertaining story. Light reading, a little love interest, and some inside tips on the shoemaking industry. You will adore Valentine and will wonder which guy she will choose for her soulmate forever. Buy it!

  • Pure enjoyment

This was a fun read, I enjoyed it from the first page. Valentine's observations of Leonard's of Great Neck made me laugh, having been there in the past, I never saw it as she did. But the story taking you from a family business in Greenwich Village to Italy and the isle of Capri was fascinating. I laughed when I read the part about the sign at the Blue Grotto, because when we went to visit it the sign was up, and like most tourists will probably not have a chance to go back. But it makes me wonder is there is any truth to it. All that aside, I would love to see a sequel to this book. Something trans atlantic, between the shop in the village to the tanners in Italy. Please Please consider a sequel

  • I wonderful read!

A heart warming story with delightful characters. Valentine and her Italian family will keep you entertained from page one. Colorful setting and an engaging plot. This is the first book of a trilogy. You will want to read them all.
