Although I am thankful to have found this part and received it in a timely manner, I am concerned about the fact that it appears to be aluminum or similar and may not hold up very well. For the $43.09 spent, including tax, I would have expected it to be steel or at least a casting similar to the original. Seller and shipping was good, no issues there... except maybe the seller should include the material in the description. I will come back and provide an update after using the skylight a bit

Brian, The Velux Adapter is an original OEM Velux part. I am an authorized Velux dealer and the part come came directly from Velux. It is made so that it will not corrode as it is exposed to the elements and temperature fluctuations.
