I acquired a government surplus Lenovo ThinkStation E20 MT-M 4222-96U. It didn't have PS/2 ports. :-( But the case had a knockout for one. I located the Hardware Maintenance Manual. Chapter 10 in the Mechanical FRUs section on page 119 there was a section with FRU, PS2 cable_R_170mm_knock out (with screw) FRU # was 43N9149. So I got this. Knocked out the knockout and installed the cable. No problems. Now I can use a PS/2 keyboard and mouse. And hook the system up to a PS/2 KVM.

  • Works for Model M Keyboard in A Lenovo Workstation

If you have and like those pre-historic IBM Model M Keyboards, then you know they don't necessarily function all that well with the PS2 to USB Converters. In my case, even though they work, they have a delay which can get rather annoying. In addition, they usually don't work while the computer is booting into windows, such as in order to specify a boot device or to enter the Bios. After installing this in my Thinkstation D30, these issues were all resolved and I was able to plug the keyboard directly into the new PS2 port without a converter. You will need to refer to the Hardware Maintenance Manual for your particular Thinkcentre or Thinkstation machine to find the port on the motherboard onto which the connector is connected. In addition, you will likely find that the first time you ...

  • Works great, but use your own screws

This cable adds PS/2 ports to certain Lenovo desktop and tower computers. It really works, even if you have an old IBM M style keyboard with 122 keys that draws a lot of power. The only down side is that the screws stick out too much so there isn't enough clearance for the keyboard to plug in firmly. Replace them with flat-head screws for best results.

  • Does what it promises

This product fits my needs perfectly. Really useful to connect an old PS2 keyboard to a Lenovo ThinkCentre.

  • Works like a charm plug right in

Installed the mouse and keyboard cable and the system recognized my keyboard and mouse that was PS2. works a lot better than the adapters I was using that were PS2 to USB. Had to change the screws so the PS2 plugs plug all the way in. So use flat head screws.

  • so easy, cheap, handy to have

No slip of paper showing the locator pin between ports that sits in the open, when you've got the green and lavender ports "the right way 'round...I'd almost put the panel back on when I figured why the pin is there. I can't think of any reason not to buy for all of your ThinkCentre with that dummy-filler now, where this goes.
