About this product

Product Information

National bestseller available in paperback. "Just as Goleman's first book redefined intelligence, his new treatise...reassesses what makes a great leader." --Time magazine. "Daniel Goleman has done it again! ...a fascinating account of how emotions are at the heart of effective leadership. This book is a gem." --David Gergen, Director, Center for Public Leadership, John F. Kennedy School, Harvard University. Drawing from decades of research within world-class organizations, the authors show that great leaders excel not just through skill and smarts, but by connecting with others using Emotional Intelligence competencies like empathy and self-awareness. The best leaders, they show, have "resonance"--a powerful ability to drive emotions in a positive direction to get results--and can fluidly interchange among a variety of leadership styles as the situation demands. Groundbreaking and timely, this book reveals the new requirements of successful leadership.

Tracking number didn’t work which was a bit of a pain but item came earlier than expected. The item was packaged very well. Being a record it’s hard to be perfect quality considering its age but was as good and exactly as presented by seller. Overall good experience and would buy from seller again!

  • Primal Leadership

Very down to earth, easy to read. I am in management, and self-help books are extremely instrumental in my development. I love the emotional aspect of this book because I run on emotion, and feel that emotions play a major role in successful management.

  • Not just for leaders

This book has really great themes. It demonstrates how leaders should act to create resonance in the workplace, but it also employees should react to leaders. I learned alot from this book.

  • Primal Leadership - Leadung with Emotional Intelligence

Great book - cart before the horse for me. I thought I needed to "toughen up" in business and what I needed to do was be more human and follow my stomach and read this book!

  • Great read!

Great read and value for the money. I bought the book for class and found it to be very informative. Published in 2002 but it is still relevant.
