    I bought the movie to show in my History Class as part of a lesson on revolutions gone bad. I saw it when it first came out and was very impressed then. My thoughts on its quality and content haven't changed. The viewer would do well knowing something about this part of the world and its history during the sixties and seventies. One has to pay attention and watch very carefully, as much is carried in the details. The soundtrack is well matched to the movie's story; Mike Oldfield did an excellent job. The Killing Fields is based on a true story, which only makes it better in my view. It follows the lives of Sidney, a reporter from the New York Times, and Pranh, his Cambodian translator.
