About this product

Product Information

The sequel to the breakthrough crossover fighter, Capcom vs. SNK 2 brings together over 40 different characters from the companies most beloved franchises. Long-forgotten brawlers like Eagle, a British fighter from the original Street Fighter, and the ever-popular Haohmaru of Samurai Shodown fame, make much welcomed returns to the fighting arena. The four-button scheme of the original has been replaced by the traditional six-button control arrangement, and four grooves have been added, bringing the total to six.

The six different grooves represent a particular style of fighting, and add or remove the ability to block in midair, and counter and parry (among others). Given the ability to customize their own groove, players can apply all of the elements to their fighter, as long as their assigned point value remains under a preset limit. A variety of special meters, such as the Samurai Shodown "Rage Meter," are available, as well as the standard three-level Capcom meter.

As before, ratios provide a limited amount of customization, allowing players to choose among a single powerful fighter, up to three fighters, or any combination in between. Additionally, certain characters have been given new moves, while others have lost some. Standard genre modes such as Survival and Versus are available, and the Color Edit mode allows players to create a custom palette for their favorite combatants. Full 3D backgrounds contain references to many of Capcom and SNK's past and present titles.

Best Crossover I Have Ever Played

Capcom vs SNK 2 is a fantastic crossover videogame with a nice twist. Gameplay stands out as the player can choose from 6 different power gauge systems that have been borrowed from both past Capcom and SNK titles. The roster consists mostly of Capcom Characters (namely and mainly Street Fighter) but has many notable SNK fighters to keep any fighting fan satisfied. The game also features a custom color system where a player can customize the colors a sprite of their favorite character and use them in battle (they can be accessed by pressing start). Overall, it is a gem and any person who is a fan of fighters should give it a try.

  • Best Crossover Fighting Game of All Time

Capcom VS. SNK 2: Mark of the Millenium can be described in just one word. Wow. It features a very impressive lineup with many characters from both the Capcom universe and the SNK universe. The characters are all pretty much balanced. I first played this game on an arcade cabinet in my local game store and it was highly impressive. This game is great for beginning fighting game players as well as veterans. The balance give newbs a chance to get practice and what kind of veteran fighting gamer could pass up SNK and Capcom fighters all in one place? If for some reason you dislike the SNK characters or the Capcom characters then maybe Street Fighter Alpha Anthology/Street Fighter Anniversary Edition or NeoGeo Battle Coliseum respectfully are more up your alley. Overall though I love ...

  • Two fighting worlds collide

This game is my personal favorite fighting game of all time. The reasons are simple: it has, in my opinion, the best cast in a fighting game (drawing people from the Street Fighter II series, Street Fighter Alpha series, Darkstalkers series, the Final Fight series, the King of Fighters Series, the Fatal Fury series, the Samurai Showdown series, the Art of Fighting series, etc). I would rate the graphics as solid: while not on par with today's next-gen best sellers, they look nice, colorful, and exactly what you'd expect from a Capcom 2D fighting game. The gameplay, for a 2D fighting game, is second to none in my opinion. The different grooves (along with customs one) makes this game a true compilation of gameplay found in many games (Street Fighter II, Street Fighter ...

  • The Most Balanced Crossover Game I've Ever Played.

This is a great game that I first played in the arcade and game room at my college. It appealed to me because it combined elements from the challenging Street Fighter Alpha games with the relatively obscure elements from the SNK fighting games. Compared to a former favorite fighting game of mine, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, this game has considerably more depth, challenge and balance, yet less excitement and replay factor (MvC2 forced you to play continuously to earn EX points allowing you to unlock more characters and costumes) than the game subtitled "New Age of Heroes." I also liked how this game brought back the old school vibe of the fighting games being tournaments held by the bosses, as opposed to the new trend where the characters are teaming up in inexplicable collaborations ...

  • So Many Characters... So Much Fun

This is one of my favorite games to play right now. I’m mostly a Capcom Fan but having the SNK characters bring crazy new mechanics into the game with characters from Street Fighter is so crazy. Rolls are great. A warning though, I think the input timing is even tighter than 3S. A lot of times I find myself dropping specials and combos.
