No Blue Harvest but BETTER than SSS Darkside
We awaited this DVD for sometime and unlike some folks we didn't go out into Christmas chaos to buy this, we pre-ordered online and had it shipped to our home. Not that it has anything to do with this review... The DVD is the 3rd installment of the Family Guy Star Wars parodies. This one covers ROTJ and once again begins in the livingroom with the Griffins and after yet another blackout Peter begins the story. The rolling paragraphs were much more amusing this time! This parody includes the familiar Family Guy characters reprising their rolls but unlike the first two this one also includes both American Dad AND Cleveland Show characters!!! We were VERY disappointed in the SSS Darkside but this one was a MILLION times better! This one kept us laughing and made us realize some of the ... We bought the Family Guy Star Wars Trilogy box set, and resold our loose one's. The DVD's DO come in the recycled cases but they WILL NOT cause any more destruction to your discs then normal cases...the only way they can hurt your dvd's are if you abuse them and throw them around. But hey, what case would stand up against that forever?! I definately recommend this dvd and if possible the trilogy to replace your others. The trilogy looks a LOT better on the shelf!

OK, I have been waiting to write this up. I HOPE FOX READS THIS. THE RELEASE DATE FOR THIS DVD. TUESDAY 12-21-10. Sure, I really wanted to go out in the Christmas shopping for the 2cd year in a row to buy this, like the Empire version 12-22-09. Poor judgment Fox. Of the original trilogy Jedi is the least popular & the same goes here. They even cover this in the beginning story telling words on the screen. For us Star Wars fans we will appreciate Carrie who already does a character in the show does the voice of Mon Mothma. We see a bit from "Caddyshack" & you will laugh at Conway Twitty in the Darth helmet. It is funny BUT not laughs do not come as often as the first two installments. HANDS UP WHO HATES THESE CASES? "Star Wars" & "Family Guy" fans should enjoy this but Seth Green may not.

Worst Family guy episode ever.
I do not expect alot when it comes to Family Guy episodes but they have to be funnier than this one. Of course we are immediately warned that this episode will not be as good as the first two in the opening crawl. "Luke Skywalker has returned to his home planet of Tatooine in order to-- okay, you know what, we don't care. We were thinking of not even doing this one. Fox made us do it. When we did 'Blue Harvest', they said, 'Oh, you guys are crazy.' They tried to talk us out of it, and it ended up making a ton of money. By then we were just finishing 'Empire', and we were absolutely exhausted. But Fox suddenly had dollar signs in their eyes and they said, 'Seth, if you don't do 'Jedi', we're not gonna let you leave to go direct your movie.' Look, just do me a huge favor and lower your ... Any way, here's 'Return of the Jedi' starring Steve as Darth Vader." (Slightly edited to reduce space) You think at first well maybe this is just a joke, but it gets much much worse from here. First of all when they are on the sand barge getting ready to be thrown in the Sarlyc pit, the cast does a nagging head bob that lasts for almost 2 minutes of screen time. When this ends you think okay now it will get funny again, then the second Han Solo (Peter) gets ready to take on Boba Chicken, they start the head bobbing again. Boba Chicken just simply disappears from the viewing screen and when someone finally asks what happened to Boba they simply state "He Fell into the pit". ???? This is the point where things went from bad to worse. The majority of the jokes are recycled and not even funny. Now I will state ahead of time that ROBOT CHICKEN STAR WARS Episode 3 was 300x better than this DVD. So if you saw this on Cartoon Netwrok then you will know how bad this Family Guy spoof really is.

This has all the great qualities in a movie. I would recommend it to anyone if they are looking to watch a great show. It might not be for some people because they have different tastes, but i got the movies because i have already seen them and knew that i like them. I never recommend buying something that you have not seen or used before because it can turn out to be something completely different from what you were looking for.
