    Cake Mix Dr.

    The recipes are over and above any ordinary box cake recipes. Ms. Byrn turns each one into a masterpiece with very little effort! I have made so many of the desserts and have given them out and people tell me I shouldn't have gone through the trouble of making cake from scratch. This is high praise and I have to agree...with a little extra effort folks will think you are the best baker. What I like is that you can tweak the recipes to your taste and they still come out delicious! One of the easiest chocolate mixes is the "Amazing German Chocolate Cake" which, believe it or not, uses a container of coconut pecan frosting IN the mix! Everyone loved it! Not just your mama's boxed cake mix.

    If you are a cake box baker this is for you!

    This is good for the home baker. If you like to bake and share your creations with family and friends, but don't have the time to really get into scratch baking and decorating, this is the book for you. You will become the local cake box queen. Being a pastry chef, it's not my cup of tea and some of the recipes don't seem like they would work from a culinary point of view, but I did try several and none were failures. A couple had to be tweaked a bit, but none I would call a waste of good money to make.

    Great Book. Lots of easy receipes.

    I purchased this book as a birthday gift for a good friend.Like me she has a lot of grandchildren. Likes to bake for them. She has really enjoyed this cook book. As have her grandchildren. Easy to read and follow. Love that they show a picture of each cake.

    chocolate from the cake mix doctor

    i borrowed this book from my executive chef at work. when i looked through it and enjoyed some of the cakes i knew i had to have this in my own library of culinry creations. i really love the fact that you can make a semi homemaed cake taste just like it was made from scratch.
