This Direct-To-Video Prequel Was a Real Shocker!
If prequels are your thing (as they are mine) and you enjoyed the original film, then I would certainly not tell you to blow this one off. But just go into it knowing it's probably gone straight to video more because of a poor script than low production values, which is not a good thing. The editing seemed to be pretty good and the story was followable, but the director failed to make us feel sorry for the victims. This film was more like a 20-something version of the first. You don't really have any connection with any of the characters because they are really just almost stupid and ignorant and annoying. To tell you the truth, I felt more sorry for the Hotel management that was doing the dirty work than I did for any of the guests. The ending was sort of that's what you get, but I ...
