King George and the Ducky - Veggie Tales
My 2 1/2 year old daughter got a Veggie Tales DVD a couple of months ago and LOVES it, so I started scouring ebay for other titles. We saw a preview for King George and the Ducky and she is at the "Mine" stage, so I searched for that one. We have had it almost a week now, and have probably watched it 100 times. Veggie Tales is animated stories that teach children values, and the stories are often based on Bible stories, with an entertaining, humorous, vegetable presentation. King George and the Ducky is about a self-centered king who wants all the rubber duckies, even if they belong to others. He learns a lesson in sharing, with a couple of standard Silly Songs by Larry (the Cucumber), such as "Where's my Hairbrush?". (In case you haven't noticed, cucumbers usually don't have hair.) ... Very, Very good DVD!!!
I love Veggie Tales! This is one of my favorite Veggie Tales DVDs. It is a lesson in selfishness but really is a story to paralell with Bathsheba. Since that story is not suitable for youngsters, they used the duckies show King George's "need" for more duckies. I loved the part where the prophet speaks to Goerge and tells him he was the man who was guilty. It brings it out in a way that children can understand. I love the the characters and the setting. In a castle! Excellent video, shows excellent values to kids!I love Veggie Tales! This is one of my favorite Veggie Tales DVDs. I bought this DVD to replace the same item in VHS format. It is a great rendition of the biblical account of David and Bathsheba - yet told in a manner that is appropriate for a child. It makes clear the dangers of being self-centered and the damage it can cause to those around you. This is definitely a needed lesson in today's "I should have whatever I want" culture. This item, like the other Veggie Tale DVDs, is great for adults as well as kids. My children are now adults and we do not yet have grandchildren and we cannot wait for the next title to come out. Some of the humor is actually directed at an adult level. Great family fun!I bought this DVD to replace the same item in VHS format.
